When Snoop Dogg released the album's title track in late October, he told Rolling Stone the song was "not a statement or a political act."

"It's just good music," he said. "Certain people feel like we should make America 'great again,' but that time they're referring to always takes me back to separation and segregation, so I'd rather 'Make America Crip Again.'"

Snoop Dogg's music video for his song "Lavender," released earlier this year, featured him shooting at a clown dressed as President Donald Trump. The president condemned the video and the rapper in a tweet.
