Scream fans, if there's one thing you should know, it's that it's never over. No matter how often you think Ghostface is dead, he's always back!
And things look deadlier than ever in the newly-released Scream 6 teaser trailer, which is set to be a sequel to Scream 5, which was released in early 2022. Since then, we have been waiting patiently for any glimpse of the upcoming sixth instalment of the hit slasher series, directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, and we finally have it! Eek!
In the teaser trailer, which is just over a minute long, the crazed masked killer follows the four survivors of the fifth movie, played by Wednesday star Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barrera, Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown from Woodsboro to the bright lights of New York. The terrified pals are quickly trapped in a sea of costumed New York subway riders before the lights go out. Of course. When the lights flicker back on, Ghostface is up close and personal to unleash his terror! Our nerves were at an all-time high watching the teaser trailer alone, so we can only imagine how intense the movie will be!

The Twitter account for the movie franchise Scream captioned the trailer: "In a city of millions, no one hears you scream. Watch the official Teaser Trailer for #Scream6 - Only in theatres March 10, 2023." We have a release date, as well!

Who is part of the cast?
As well as Jenna, Melissa, Mason and Jasmin, other members of the Scream franchise will return, including Hayden Panettiere as Kirby Reed and Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers.
Samara Weaving, Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, and Josh Segarra are also part of the cast.
While original Scream Queen Neve Campbell made her grand return for the fifth instalment, she will not be returning for Scream 6 due to a disagreement over her pay. In a statement to Variety, she confirmed earlier this year: “Sadly, I won't be making the next Scream film. As a woman, I have had to work extremely hard in my career to establish my value, especially when it comes to Scream.”
She continued: "I felt the offer that was presented to me did not equate to the value I have brought to the franchise. It's been a very difficult decision to move on." Neve added: "To all my Scream fans, I love you. You've always been so incredibly supportive to me. I'm forever grateful to you and to what this franchise has given me over the past 25 years."
What is the official plot of Scream 6?
The official synopsis reads: "The Scream saga continues with the four survivors of the Ghostface killings as they leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter."
