The WBA is organizing its 102nd edition of the WBA Convention in Orlando. Unfortunately, on the third day of the convention chaos erupted in an unfortunate situation involving David Benavidez‘s promoter Sampson Lewkowicz and CEO and Founder of Grant Worldwide Elvis Grant‘s young son.
After Grant’s son openly disrespected Sampson who is 72 years old, Bernard Hopkins, who was also attending the convention, loudly protested Grant’s son’s misdeed. Here is what happened.
Bernard Hopkins confronts Elvis Grant after his son spat on promoter Sampson Lewkowicz’s face
According to the latest tweet by Boxing Scene, there were disagreements at the session where matters related to mandatory bouts and Interim titles were discussed. At this, aggressively Elvis Grant’s son spat on elderly promoter Sampson Lewkowicz’s face. Since Lewkowicz has long been in association with Grant’s family, the action broke his heart and greatly upset him. On the other hand, Grant’s son’s actions infuriated Golden Boy Promotions Executive and former Unified Light-Heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins.

In the brief clip that Boxing Scene shared on X, Hopkins is seen confronting Grant following his son’s misdeed. “Where did the punk a** Elvis go? He’s spitting on Sampson’s face. And I told him, ‘You don’t do that here.’ This is the WBA Conventions. Sampson just chased him down,” Hopkins is heard saying.
After Hopkins faced Grant, he added, “You come to the Conventions and you disrespect him. They got the cameras right? So, you’re telling me spitting on his face was right?”
Meanwhile, Sampson, who promotes David Benavidez, thoroughly heartbroken was heard saying, “I took him to school. His father didn’t do it.” Anyway, as per the post by Boxing Scene, the 72-year-old has filed a police report for battery against Grant’s son with the Orlando Police Department. In addition, as Boxing Scene uploaded the brief clip on X, several people reacted to it.
